1. Introduction
Data Principal’s (hereinafter referred to as “you” or “individual”) privacy is important to Brother International (India) Private Limited. (hereinafter referred to as "BIPL", "we" or "us"). Hence, we have adopted this Privacy Policy. We have tried to keep the privacy policy as simple as possible and easy to understand.
This Privacy Policy explains what and how personal data is collected and further processed (as defined in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and/ or other applicable laws), for what purposes it is collected and further processed by us, to whom personal data is disclosed and how to access and update/ request correction of your personal data, withdraw consent, grievance redressal and where to go for further information in respect of the personal data provided to us.
You must also review and accept our Website Terms of Use as it is also applicable and governs your use of the Website. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any personal data that you may provide to the third parties, such as through other sites linked to the website. Please be aware that if you choose to visit such third-party sites, you should contact such third parties directly to determine their respective privacy policies. This Privacy Policy will not govern your activities and any personal data you disclose while visiting the third-party site.
2. Information about children and Person with Disability (PwD)
If you are under the age of 18 or person with disability, you are required to obtain the consent of your parent, guardian or the person who has parental responsibility over you before providing us with your personal data (for example, your name, address, and email address). We understand the importance of taking extra precautions to protect the privacy and safety of children and PwD using BIPL services. Most of BIPL’s websites are designed and intended for use by adults. If you are a child under the age of 18 or PwD where parental consent is required, you should review the terms of this Privacy Policy with your parent or guardian to make sure you understand and accept them. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a child or PwD without consent from a parent or guardian where such consent should have been obtained, we will delete that personal data as soon as practically possible. 4. What personal data BIPL collects?
BIPL may request personal data/ personally identifiable information that can be used to identify directly or indirectly an individual. Providing such information to BIPL shall be voluntary. You are not required to provide the data requested by BIPL, however, if you do not wish to provide the required data, we may not be able to provide you with the appropriate services, products, respond to your queries, etc.
We will ask you to provide personal information that is necessary for us to provide our services to you. We will only collect the information that is necessary for specified, concrete, explicit, and legitimate purposes and shall ensure that the information is not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes. BIPL strictly complies to the data minimization principle and shall not collect personal data over and above required for specified purpose.

d. Applicants and Candidates: We may collect information such as contact information, identification information, demographic information financial information, educational information, employment information.
5. Why is personal data collected?
We collect, process, and disclose your personal data only for specific and limited purposes. The purposes of data collection including, but not limited to are listed below.
a. Direct consumers/ end users/ customers:
i. To enable BIPL to reach out to you in relation to programmes managed by them or products or services offered by them.
ii. To enable us to improve products & services of BIPL and its affiliate/ associated entities. Processing, maintaining, improving, and developing our products and/or services to you, such as delivery, after-sales support, customer support, and advertising.
iii. To process your requests (such as replying to your queries, comments or complaints) regarding BIPL and its products/ services. Handling your questions or requests about devices and services, such as answering customer inquiries.

v. To sell any products that BIPL deals in.

BIPL may collect your personal data for instance:

8. Sharing of personal data amongst Brother International (India) Private Limited entities
We may share personal data internally within our entities (Holding company, Subsidiaries, Affiliates and Joint ventures). These entities and affiliates may market to you as a result of such sharing unless explicit consent has been obtained at point of data collection. BIPL may disclose your personal information to its entities and third parties to provide you with and improve the existing products and services, including offering products or services based on your requirements.
In doing so, BIPL shall ensure that it will take appropriate management and technical measures to ensure the security of your personal information processing, including but not limited to the encryption of your personal information.
9. Transfer of personal data
To enable us to provide you enhanced and secured services, we may enter into a contract with selected third parties from time to time. Such engagements may involve sharing of your personal data. To the extent a third party has access to your personal data, we do share your personal information with a 3rd Party/service provider, we would only do so if that party has agreed to comply with our privacy standards as described in this contract/agreement/privacy policy. BIPL shall undertake appropriate due diligence check for technical and organizational measures to ensure they meet privacy standards. We do not market or sell your personal data to any third party.
Third parties include our delivery service providers, customer service providers, advertising and marketing service providers, and other business partners. These third parties may process your personal information on BIPL's behalf or for one or more of the purposes of this Privacy Policy. The personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to and stored at locations that may or may not be in India. As per DPDPA as soon as the government release the list of restricted countries for sharing personal data. BIPL will ensure to abide by the same and restrict sharing personal data to such countries. Where your personal data has been transferred to any subsidiary and / or to third parties located outside of India, the transfer of your personal data is carried out under organizational, contractual, and legal measures and with adequate levels of protection implemented as well as in compliance with any additional local legal requirements for the parties receiving this information to safeguard your personal data.
10. Data security
We may collect and store your personal data in electronic and/ or physical form (subsequently digitized), depending on the requirement. Information may be stored at our and third-party premises within IT Systems (e.g., external cloud storages, internal or third-party management systems, e-mails, databases, hard drives), document warehouses, etc.
We endeavor, where practicable, to process your personal data in a safe environment by preventing any unauthorized or unlawful processing of personal data or accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, such information. We have implemented various physical, technical, and administrative security measures to protect your personal data and our network from unauthorized access. Some of these measures include:

The form requires information for identifying you, details about the right you are choosing to exercise and scope of the right. It also needs you to exercise a declaration with respect to the information being filled by you in the Form is true and accurate.

13. Notification of changes
We reserve the right to amend, modify, vary, or update this Privacy Policy, at our sole discretion from time to time, as and when the need arises. The most recently published Privacy Policy shall prevail over any of its previous versions. You are encouraged to check this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay informed of any changes.
14. Disclaimer
To protect your privacy, as stated above, we will .the best efforts and adopt the best industry standards of information practice, however you understand that 100% security does not exist over the cyber space. You are responsible for protecting your personal data and you should not share your login credentials and/ or leave your personal devices unattended while you are accessing the Website, etc. The Company has put up appropriate security measures to the best of its knowledge and capacity to mitigate risks. However, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will remain completely private owing to cyber-attacks or negligence on your part.
